The National Panhellenic Conference was founded in 1902. Today, the conference includes 26 sororities, but it was originally founded by only 7 organizations.
Pi Beta Phi was one of the seven sororities that first helped in the development of forming the National Panhellenic Conference.
Pi Beta Phi itself was founded in 1867 by twelve founders! Pi Beta Phi created their badge based on their founders, and it has 12 links of chain to honor each of them. The other part of the badge features an arrow, which can be plain or jeweled, and the letters of Pi Beta Phi.
It is also neat that links are represented in the badge because one of the national philanthropies recognized by Pi Beta Phi is Links to Literacy.
Pi Beta Phi’s nickname is Pi Phi, and their flower is the wine carnation.
Pi Phi’s flower is featured in their Lilly Pulitzer® sorority print! The print also features their arrow and their letters.
